Tis the Season… for Baseball!

Thursday, April 5th, 2012

Well, yesterday officially kicked off a wonderful new season of a great American pastime: Baseball. And by “wonderful new season,” I mean WONDERFUL new season because the Cardinals started it off by beating the Marlins on their brand new home field! (No offense to any Marlins fans out there).

So, in celebration of the wonderful baseball season that’s now upon us, we thought we’d spotlight a design we digitized not too long ago.

This design was a 2.7″ x 3″ Left Chest, totaling in 13,031 stitches. This small design made use of 10 different colors!

What about you?! Are you working on any cool baseball projects right now? Or got any good in-office team rivalries??

Here’s where the Eteam stands:

Kristin Anderson = Team St. Louis Cardinals (and proud of it!)

Kristin Lamb = Team St. Louis Cardinals OR Texas Rangers (I asked if she was aware they are rivals. She said yes, but doesn’t care. :P )

Kristen Wigner = Not a baseball fan. (Please email her & let her know she is MISSING OUT!)

Scott Davis = Team Texas Rangers

Jeff Foster = Team Seattle Mariners, if he must choose. (But could also use a little more baseball spirit!)

Speed Up Your Order by Being Specific!

Monday, March 12th, 2012

Want to know how to get your order completed faster?!

Of course you do.

Giving us the most specific, detailed instruction about a design upfront enables us to place an order directly into processing without us having to put it on hold and ask questions about how exactly you want the design digitized. One common problem area we see a lot here at Edigitize is in the area of color fading, or gradients. Many times, customers will place an order for a design that includes color fading, but not specify how they want us to digitize it.

A simple way to speed up the turnaround time on your order is to look over a design before submitting it and make sure you inform us of how you want us to handle any gradients (or color fading) that are on the artwork.

When you place your order, there will be an Advanced Options section. In this area of the order form, you have the option to select that your design includes color fading, and then tell us how you want it done. Your options range from us digitizing the design with 1 solid color only (no color fading), or using 2 or 3 thread colors to accomplish the fade. You may also select that we match the artwork you provided as closely as possible. If  you select the option to specify below, make sure you provide us with detailed instructions on what you want done in order to avoid your order being placed on hold for us to ask more questions.

The Advanced Options section also includes other areas of possible design elements for you to be sure to tell us exactly how you want us to handle your artwork. These options include common design elements like borders, outlines, and drop shadows. By specifying ahead of time how you would like us to handle each element of your design, we are able to streamline the processing of your order and turn it around much faster than if we have to put it on hold and ask more questions.

If you need further instruction on this, here is a quick video tutorial on the Edigitize Order Form:

Help?! I’m Confused! (Background Options)

Monday, March 5th, 2012

As customers place digitizing orders with Edigitize, one of the most prominent sources of confusion we notice is over selecting the correct background option. Many times, we have to place orders on hold to request further instructions so that we can make sure to process orders the way each customer wants. The turnaround time for orders, however, can be greatly decreased when the correct background option is selected and specific instructions are given from the get-go, because this allows us to place your order directly into processing without having to put it on hold to ask for clarification or further instruction.

With our online ordering system, there are 4 options to choose from when letting us know how you want the artwork background on your digitizing order.

The first option is fabric shows through where design matches fabric color. This option would mean that you want not only the area around and outside of the design to be fabric showing through, but also the inside of the design elements should be fabric showing through as well. Any area of the design that matches the target fabric should not be filled with this option.

The second option, fill in design elements excluding background, would mean that you want all elements of the actual design filled in, but you do not want the area around and outside of the design elements to be stitched. All elements of the logo or design are filled, but the area around/outside of the design is the target fabric with this option.

The third option is to stitch entire design including background. With this option. All aspects of the design and the area around and outside of the design will be stitched. No area of the artwork you uploaded will be fabric showing through with this option.

The fourth and final option is for you to specify below. This option allows you to write your own specific instructions for the design that you would like us to follow. If you select this option, it is very important that you provide us with detailed instructions on which areas of the design you want filled and which areas should be fabric showing through. Otherwise we will have to place your order on hold and ask for further instruction, which only prolongs the turnaround time for your order.
