Spotlight Design!!

Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

It’s time for another Spotlight Design!

The design we are featuring this time is from one of our awesome customers, Charlotte Beakley at Whimsy & Wishes!

There is wide variety of designs we get each and every day. Each of these designs has a story to tell! This is a very special design with a great story behind it! This design was done for Susan G. Komen fundraising team who call themselves “Cindy’s Pink Ninja’s.” Charlotte said, “They came up with this logo and are using it to raise awareness of breast cancer and for fundraising in many creative ways.  They won’t stop “fighting like a ninja” until a cure is found :)” What an inspiration this team is!

Charlotte  says, “The design stitched out perfectly!! Now they have a perfect, digitized replica of their adorable logo and I know they will be thrilled!!”

For more information about this fundraising team visit their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/cindyspinkninjas?sk=wall&filter=2

Oh, What Joy!!

Thursday, July 5th, 2012

Have you ever thought about what you like about the apparel/decorating industry? I have been thinking about it a lot lately. This is my first job in apparel and after a year and half, I am happy to say I am really loving this industry! Here are a couple “joys” that I have found during my time:

1) We have some the most down-to-earth customers. One of the things that I get to do at Edigitize (besides all the killer decorating 😉 ) is answer the phones. On a daily basis, I speak with the greatest people! Our customers truly are one of a kind and are such a  joy to work with.

2) You don’t have to be a “Technology Know-It-All”. First of all, who likes a know-it-all anyways?  No one. This industry isn’t about the latest and greatest technology, it’s about quality products, trade skills, and knowing your customers. Many of our customers want to know that their money is buying them a quality design, one that can be run on hundreds of shirts and hats. I like that we focus on the quality of our designs.

So after reading about my “joys” in decorating, what are yours?!

Beauty is Pain… Or Is It?

Monday, March 19th, 2012

The statement “beauty is pain” is a commonly thrown around phrase used to make light of some of the more ridiculous things we put ourselves through in order to appear more glamorous or in style. However, how many of us have actually stopped to think about – or look into – how what we choose to put on actually affects us beyond the temporary pain?

Being in the apparel industry, oftentimes we think of how to keep up with the latest trends, and sometimes we even consider how the material we use might effect the environment. But often we overlook how we can simply be friendly to our own selves as well.

Lucky for us, The Wall Street Journal recently posted an article on just that. Covering everything from jeans to neck ties to earrings and shoes, this article covers many trendy apparel and accessory items that, beyond the outward appearance, may not be so friendly to our bodies after all.

Whether we are designing, producing, or purchasing these apparel and accessory products, it is important that we not give all of our focus to what is fashionable and end up making a faux pas that could cost us our health.

Style is important, yes. As is being environmentally friendly. But as producers and consumers of the apparel industry, we must not forget about ourselves in the process. It is not that some of these objectives can only be accomplished at the expense of another. They all can work together to produced fashion that is eco- and health-friendly.

So next time you go shopping or are designing a new product, don’t just think about how it will influence your peers or impact the environment. Remember yourself, and your health. That’s a fashion choice you won’t regret.
