Evironmentally Endearing

Friday, March 9th, 2012

Being “environmentally friendly” has been all the rage over the past several years, and the trend seems to be continually on the rise. Whether it is for your own personal life through doing such things as recycling and using reusable shopping bags, or on a grander corporate scale through the use of “green” products in doing business–we can’t escape the plea to be conscious of our environment in our day-to-day lives.

One creative example of this presented itself in a post I came across recently. It was about none other than the eco-friendly, American-job promoting company itself, American Apparel.

The company not only uses solar power and recycled fabrics to make your clothes – but also to make your dog’s clothes. That’s right. This hip American-based company uses scrap fabric that is leftover after cutting human-sized patterns to make their dog t-shirts and hoodies. So now, not only you, but your pets can be environmentally friendly too!

And you have to admit, this is cute:

So what about you? I’d love to hear about more cool ways in which you and/or your business are striving to keep the environment in mind.

Customer Accounts & Your Safety

Wednesday, March 7th, 2012

Signing up for anything that involves giving your information out on the internet these days can be a scary thing.  At Edigitize, we see and understand that oftentimes people feel hesitant to “sign up” or create an account with us, especially if they only want a quote at the time. We would like to assure you, however, that creating a customer account with us is absolutely free and in no way obligates you to anything. In fact, you can place a quote without having to enter any type of payment information at all. So, you can rest assured you will always get your quotes for free.

Placing an order does require a credit card to be on file; however, your card will not be charged until after the order is complete and you approve it (or 5 business days after we send you the order, if we don’t hear from you before then). And remember, we also provide an unlimited number of revisions for life, which are always free unless the changes require some redigitizing. In that case, revisions can be done for a small edit fee. And again, we will always let you know and ask your approval ahead of time before proceeding. Your card will never be unexpectedly charged.

Sometimes customers will be confused about why they have to enter a credit card number in our online system when they have a coupon code for a free trial. The way our system is currently set up, any order that is placed has to have a credit card on file. However, it is important to remember that by entering that promo code when placing your order, your invoice is automatically zeroed out in our system before we even process the order, so you will never be charged for an order in which you have a free trial or other promotional code.

Still have questions or concerns? Our American-based customer service is always happy to talk with you. Call our toll free number 1- 877-349-6586 any time Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Central Time to be connected with our friendly customer service based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have! Or feel free to shoot us an email at info@edigitize.com – we answer emails on evenings & weekends too!

Thoughts On Outsourcing Your Embroidery Digitizing

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

Ever wish there were more hours in a day?

Running a business can certainly take its toll, and no matter how hard we wish, we still only have 24 hours in a day to make it all happen. So, when it comes to running and maintaining a successful business – especially in a world where more and more consumers want their needs met yesterday – delegating tasks to make sure everything gets accomplished is a must. Something often overlooked with delegating, though, is that delegating outside of the company – or outsourcing – can be an option too. In the embroidery business, the task that is most practical to outsource is the digitizing.

Why should you consider outsourcing your digitizing?
Here’s a few simple pros to outsourcing your digitizing versus trying to keep it all in-house.

First off, outsourcing the digitizing part of your business will save you time. As stated before, time is a precious commodity these days that unfortunately we just don’t always seem to have enough of. Without the necessary manpower to make it all happen, you can easily find yourself taking up much of your time with tedious tasks, which ultimately leaves you without enough time to take on more business or focus on what you do best.

And acquiring the necessary staff to keep the digitizing in house will cost you money. Another benefit of outsourcing your digitizing. For a fraction of the cost you will spend acquiring, training, and paying a digitizing staff, you can outsource your digitizing (to a great company like Edigitize, if we do say so ourselves!) and free up some time and money to work on growing your business!

Yet another way outsourcing your digitizing will save you money is by not having to purchase the software yourself. Digitizing software can be a bit pricey, adding to the growing list of costs for keeping your digitizing in-house.

Allowing another company who specializes in and specifically focuses on digitizing to do that aspect of the work for your company can often allow you to produce better quality work as well. Rather than having to attempt something that may not be your area of expertise or hire more staff who do have that expertise, outsourcing allows you to focus on what you do best – the embroidery – without having to buy expensive software, take away time from growing your business, or hire more staff.

All of this to say: Outsourcing your digitizing allows you to free up much-needed time to focus on what you do best and take on new work. Outsourcing also frees up finances to not only keep your business afloat, but grow it as well. Lastly, and if not most importantly, outsourcing your digitizing work allows you to partner with a knowledgable digitizing expert to help you produce top-notch quality designs that your customers will love, time and time again.
