Order Forms: How-To

This blog post may look familiar to you. But that’s because we are convinced that filling out an order form correctly can make YOU a happier customer! That’s right.

Here’s the situation:

Ever notice your orders or quotes getting put on hold? Ever notice getting emails or comments from Edigitize asking for clarification on your artwork? Whether you realize it or not, leaving out important instructions when placing an order or quote actually prolongs the amount of time before it is finished. Rather than guess what you are wanting the finished product to look like, we opt to place your quote or order on hold and seek further instruction from you, our customers! However, all of this can be avoided, and the overall turnaround time significantly reduced, when you choose to read over our order form carefully and are sure to tell us EXACTLY how you want the final product to look!

It really is this simple:

On this order, one of our customers, Betty Cadle, gave Edigitize specific instructions regarding the design elements she wanted stitched. What I mean by this is, Betty specifically mentioned each design element and the colors she wanted. She mentioned the house & text “HomeFirst” as one color stop, the “1” and text “Mortgage” as a second color stop, and the white in the windows and “1” outline as the third color stop.

Had she not have mentioned the specific elements she wanted stitched, her order would have been placed On Hold and we would have had to seek further instruction from her, especially regarding whether the white in the design should be stitched or fabric showing through. Instead, our customer told us exactly how she wanted it, so that is how we were able to deliver it – exactly how she wanted it! Thanks, Betty!

Happy Thursday, everyone! How’s the warmer weather treating you? We absolutely love it and are soaking in every ray of sunshine we can!

This design, embroidered by Linda Marie, was 3.71″ wide x 2.52″ high. It resulted in 16,148 stitches with 10 colors and 20 trims. Linda said of this order, “Fantastic job on this – looked great!!!!!!!!!!

1. The first trend is customers with short attention spans. By this, I mean that customers are looking for something that catches their attention and makes for an easy purchase. If they have to thumb around on your web page for too long to find what they need, chances are they’ll go elsewhere. The goal here is to eliminate any and every obstacle that may stand in the way of a customer purchasing from you. Things like making sure your website is easy to navigate and can handle the amount of traffic, decreasing turnaround time, and making your business easily accessible can do wonders for keeping and growing your business. Because, let’s face it – in this busy world, no one has the extra time to waste.

2. Another trend the study found is that retail customers are looking for experience over price. While it may be tempting to offer special discounts and sales to attract new business, what customers are looking for now more than the best price is the experience that brings helpful customer service, unique products, and flexible shopping options to fit their busy schedules.

3. Speaking of flexible shopping options, another trend the study found is that e-commerce will soar like never before in 2012. Customers now prefer the ease of shopping from their mobile phones or tablets, without the hassle of being tied to a home or office computer or driving on-site to shop . With technology the way it is nowadays, your business is sure to lose out if it isn’t keeping up!

4. In the same light, retail customers are now “in the know” with the latest and greatest technology. In a moment’s notice, they will look up, research, and compare which product is the better buy. The business strategy to overcoming this? Find new ways to snag customers’ attention! Also, securing loyalty with your current customers is key here as well. After all, you’ll never meet an Apple customer who is considering returning to dear ole PC.
